Born and raised in the New Orleans area, Norman Hodgins currently serves as Vice-President of the New Orleans Chapter of the NFL Players Association. He began his sports career as a prep football player at Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana, and was a standout defensive back for the LSU Tigers during the early 70's. Norman was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1974 and completed his pro football years with the Green Bay Packers.
Norman's achievements in the business world match those on the playing field. He holds designations from the The American College of Bryn Mawr, PA as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). His 35-year career in insurance and financial sales and marketing have resulted in numerous awards and recognition, and Norman has held executive positions in some of the largest and most successful firms in the industry, including New York Life Insurance Company, Pan-American Life Insurance Company, New England Financial, and AXA-Equitable Insurance Companies.
In addition to his vast corporate experience, Norman has benefited the nonprofit and philanthropic community throughout the years by his involvement in professional, civic, and volunteer organizations. He is an engaging and motivational speaker who has presented to many diverse groups. He presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation. Other current affiliations include the St. Paul's Renaissance Board of Trustees and the NFL Alumni Board in addition to the NFL Players Association Board.
Perhaps Norman' greatest pride, however, is his family. He is married to his college sweetheart, Luellen Florsheim Hodgins, and they have 4 children and 4 beautiful young grandchildren.
